Virtual activity groups for the Ataxia Community

Our Virtual Activity groups started in the first Covid-19 lockdown and have been so popular that we’ve continued with them ever since.

At Ataxia UK, we wanted to create social activities that help the ataxia community to stay connected with each other from the comfort of your own home. The sessions are created and hosted by the Services team and our wonderful volunteers, including wellbeing activities,  information sessions on a range of topics covering different aspects of living with ataxia and fun activities like Tony’s music club.

We hope these sessions will be informative, entertaining and leave people feeling a little less isolated.

We have a number of  events planned throughout 2024, with the next ones being:

Volunteers Week

  • Tuesday 4th June 13:00-14:30 – Tony’s Music Club
  • Friday 7th June 13:00-14:00 – Quiz with Sandeep, Jess & Tilly

Carers’ Week

Carers Week 2024 Logo

As Carers’ Week (10-16 June) approaches, Ataxia UK celebrates the invaluable contributions of unpaid Carers within the ataxia community. We pay tribute to those who selflessly devote their time and energy to caring for their loved ones, navigating the challenges of illness and disability with unwavering dedication.

Chair Pilates

Sonia Forde

Our next Chair Pilates session will be held on Tuesday 11th June, 11:30-12:30! This session will be run by Sonia Forde, a Pilates instructor with over 17 years of experience. As this session will be held during Carers Week, we hope that it will benefit carers who do so much for the community. As always though, anyone is welcome to join! To sign up to this session, please fill in our booking form here.

Building Resilience As A Carer

In celebration of Carers Week join us for a session on Building Resilience As A Carer. Caring is not a 9-5 job, and can take its toll on the Carer. In this session we will explore how to build your resilience, to enable you to look after yourself, as well as the person you care for. Friday 14th June 10:30-11:30. Register, here:
