Like every small charity, where every penny really does make a huge impact, we are just as disappointed as you to be finding out today that Amazon will be ending its AmazonSmile programme.

AmazonSmile launched 10 years ago and through every purchase you make it donates a small amount to your chosen charity. Since the pandemic more and more people have been shopping online and so the small donations through platforms like this began to add up to become large amounts. In the last 6 months your support helped raise £681.96 at no extra cost to you – simply from your shopping online at AmazonSmile.

With AmazonSmile closing it means we are losing this simple but effective platform for fundraising. With its closure we know many of our supporters will be looking for a replacement to plug the gap. While there are many alternatives out there, and we are grateful that you may want to use one of these alternatives to help raise money for Ataxia UK, our recommendation would be EasyFundraising.

This platform works similarly to AmazonSmile but across a wide range of stores – even including takeaways and grocery stores – and with some stores giving a donation of up to 15% of the purchase. Unlike AmazonSmile you must create an account and access the stores you want to buy from through their website, however their website is straightforward to use.

We are already starting to receive donations from EasyFundraising and so we appreciate those of you using this platform for their online shopping to help raise money for Ataxia UK. We greatly appreciate everything our supporters do to help raise money for, and awareness of ataxia.

Our Supporter, Lindsay (Dory) Harvey, has created a fantastic online cookbook called Simple Tasty Delights in support of Ataxia UK. Ataxia is something very close to Lindsay’s heart, as her niece has the condition. She has come up with this fantastic idea to raise vital funds to support those affected by ataxia and to fund research.

From your classic starters right through to irresistible heavenly desserts, there is definitely something for everyone in this cookbook. There are even a few cocktails too!

The cookbook costs £10.00. 70% of this will come to Ataxia UK and 30% will go towards the creation of the cookbook and the sales platform and payment fees.

Treat yourself to one of Becky's brilliant prints

Our Supporter, Becky Henley, has designed some fantastic prints where 40% of the profits kindly come to Ataxia UK. These funds will support those affected by ataxia and fund vital research.
