Medical Guidelines
Our updated and expanded Medical Guidelines were produced to help healthcare professionals in the diagnosis and management of people with ataxia.
These guidelines are the result of extensive consultation with ataxia specialist neurologists and other healthcare professionals. They include comprehensive sections on diagnosis, medical interventions for symptom relief and therapies. In November 2018 they were endorsed by the European Reference Network for rare neurological diseases (ERN-RND).
Download the latest edition of the Ataxia Medical Guidelines 2016, or read below to see a reader friendly version.
A summary of the Ataxia Guidelines has been published in 'Guidelines', the online resource summarising clinical guidelines for primary care.
On 20 February 2019 the Medical Guidelines were also published in the Orphanet Journal of Rare Diseases.
