We’re pleased to invite you to a one-day Ataxia UK Roadshow in Basingstoke! The event aims to provide you with the information and tools to develop your understanding of ataxia, and to feel supported in your journey with ataxia. It also provides an opportunity to meet other people living with ataxia.Â

Join us for a one-day programme hosted by Ataxia UK patron Paul Coia, which will include:

- Find out what Ataxia UK can do to support you
- Q&A with specialist ataxia healthcare team including Prof Carlo Rinaldi from the Oxford Ataxia Centre and ataxia nurse Camilla Notley.
- All About Ataxia Workshop
- The opportunity to meet others living with ataxia
- Other workshops to be confirmed
Who this event is for:
- Those with a new or existing diagnosis of ataxia
- Families, friends and carers of people living with ataxia
- Local healthcare professionals working with ataxia patients, or with an interest in ataxia
Tickets
Early Bird tickets - £23.00 for adults, £12.50 for ages 13-18 and free for under 12s.
The ticket includes a buffet lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Early bird pricing ends on 21 February, after which date the price for adult tickets will be £30.
Supporter Ticket - £30.00 Our in-person events are subsidised to make them more afforable. Supporter tickets include an optional donation which supports Ataxia UK to keep delivering these events and make them accessible to all. Early bird pricing ends 21st February, after which the Supporter price will increase to £35.00.
Cancellation policy - Please note that refunds will only be granted in very exceptional circumstances, due to the cost implications of putting on these events.Â

Accommodation
For this event, we have secured a block booking of hotel rooms, including accessible rooms for the evenings of Friday 20 March and Saturday 21 March. These can be booked directly with the hotel by calling central reservations on 0330 107 1599 and quoting 'Ataxia UK'. Rates are bed & breakfast £137 (single occupancy) and £151 (double occupancy).
Please note these allocated rooms will be returned to general sale on 21 Feb so please book early to avoid disappointment. Rooms booked from the allocation are payable in full upon booking, and will be non-refundable, non-amendable and non-transferable.
Getting there
By car: 1.6 miles from M3 JCT 6
There are 200 free parking spaces on-site, 2 of which are Blue Badge parking. We also have 10 reserved parking spots closest to the entrance. Your vehicle registration will need to be entered at reception.Â
By train: Basingstoke station – 2.5 miles away
The 7 bus runs every 12 mins from Basingstoke rail station to stop ‘Chineham Centre’ and then it is a 7 min walk to the hotel.
Alternatively it is a 10 min taxi journey from the train station to the hotel. We recommend pre-booking through one of the taxi companies below if you require a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
