Ataxia UK aims to fundamentally improve the lives of people with ataxia, their families, carers and friends - whilst doing all we can to find a treatment and a cure. In 2016/17, our support helpline was able to provide care and support to 1,605 people. Ataxia UK is there at critical time in people’s lives, particularly pre- and post-diagnosis and later in life when ataxia makes life very difficult.

How we raised our money…

Ataxia UK is entirely funded by the money we raise. Some of it comes from trusts and grants, but most of it comes from the generosity of people like you, who make donations, raise money, and leave us gifts in their wills. We receive no government funding.

Our total income from Fundraising, Donations and Legacies for the Financial Year of April 2016 to March 2017 was £1,240k, an increase of 19% on the previous year.

For more detailed accounts you can read our Annual Report & Financial Statements (1st April 2016 - 31st March 2017).
