Roll up roll up, for a special Valentine’s Day Charity Raffle!

Enter to Win a Fabulous Fedora Hat & Support Ataxia UK!

Hat maker, Roberta Cucuzza and talented embroiderer, Kellye Coffyn have produced a fabulous fedora hat for a fabulous cause: raising money for Ataxia UK! Roberta’s brother has a rare form of ataxia and she has chosen to raise funds for Ataxia UK to help fund vital research to find a cure for the condition.

Roberta’s Story

Roberta had never heard of ataxia until her brother Riccardo got diagnosed with the condition, which affects his mobility and speech. Watching Riccardo find a five-minute conversation tiring, and doing daily physiotherapy to ensure that his body doesn’t deteriorate further, Roberta became determined to raise money to help people like Riccardo who suffer from ataxia.

This is when Roberta and Kellye came up with the idea of creating a beautiful bespoke hat (that would usually cost around £500!) to raise money for Ataxia UK by doing a Charity Valentine’s Day Raffle!

All proceeds will go to Ataxia UK to support us in providing a strong network for scientific research as well as patient support groups for those suffering from ataxia. “Regardless of how much we will collect for Ataxia research, this raffle will raise awareness of this rare disease and the many unsung heroes who struggle with it every day. Kellye and I strongly believe in scientific research so we hope that one day there will be more options available to cure or at least manage Ataxia.” (Roberta)
