HOST YOUR PREMIERE OF UN(CONQUERED)
We're thrilled to bring you Ataxia UK's feature-length documentary film about Ben Spencer, a man who refused to let his diagnosis of ataxia define him.
Raise awareness this autumn by hosting your very own home premiere – find out more below.
ABOUT UN(CONQUERED)
UN(CONQUERED) is a new documentary produced by Ataxia UK’s Viktor Elzer, that tells the powerful story of Ben, a man diagnosed with progressive cerebellar ataxia. A former bouncer, ambulance driver and software director, Ben's dreams were halted by his symptoms. Instead of despairing, he chose to raise awareness of ataxia.
Ben set himself an incredible challenge: visiting all 272 London Tube stations to highlight accessibility issues before becoming reliant on a wheelchair. Each stop represented a victory over ataxia's obstacles. With his two walking sticks, Ben navigated stairs, escalators, and ramps, showcasing his determination. He then tackled even more demanding challenges like climbing Mount Snowdon. UN(CONQUERED) tells this story.
Organise your own home premiere this autumn and help raise awareness of ataxias.
YOUR VERY OWN PREMIERE
The last few years, you have been taking two steps towards quicker ataxia diagnosis for International Ataxia Awareness Day on 25th September by delivering the copies of the Medical Guidelines to your local GP practices.
This year, we are asking our Friends to host their very own home premiere. Organise a screening of the documentary in the comfort of your home, your community centre, or your cinema. Raise awareness of living with ataxia through the eyes of Ben.
This is not only a fun way to gather your friends and family, but it is also a fantastic way to raise awareness of ataxia. It is time to make a difference, and we can only do this with your help! Have your popcorn, nachos, and soft drinks ready and get the show started!
We would also encourage you to raise some vital funds to support those in the ataxia community. You can combine this with a cake bake, a community picnic or a raffle. We will provide you with a fundraising pack, merchandising for the documentary including posters, tickets, and booklets.
