Richard Brown was diagnosed with Friedreich’s ataxia in 1991 and has been a Trustee of Ataxia UK since 2013. He has an Honours Degree in Modern History and took early retirement after a successful career in Local Government. He worked throughout Oxfordshire and the West Midlands, specialising in access, equality and diversity, and housing management. He uses this experience to work in several local community projects. Richard has a very good understanding of linking strategies to action, delivering excellent customer service and is an experienced manager of resources and people.
Richard has taken part in many fundraising and awareness events and projects with Ataxia UK, including a series of videos (which you can view on our YouTube channel) and skydiving.
