Help us raise funds

Fundraising is vital to Ataxia UK and a great way to get involved, whether it's running an event or doing a skydive. Everything helps!

You can also create your own fundraising page here.

Raise awareness of ataxia

One of Ataxia UK's biggest priorities is to raise awareness of the condition. In 2009 only 7% of the public had heard of ataxia. By March 2014 this figure was up to 9%. As you can see we are making progress, but clearly more work is needed!

25th September is Ataxia Awareness Day and every year we carry out events and press work to coincide with this. If you are planning a fundraising event around the day, we would love to hear from you!

We also recently ran a powerful poster campaign with the help of TBWA, Paul Belford & Rankin, highlighting the ataxia condition. Feel free to download the posters here
. If you have the permission to do so, we would encourage you to put them up at your work place, school, GP practice or home.

Press Work

As well as ataxia awareness day, we carry out press work throughout the year - we have been on This Morning and BBC Scotland as well as appeared in The Daily Mail, as well as plenty of magazines, local newspapers and radio stations.

We recently ran a press release campaign highlighting the Ataxia 'Laid Bare' calendar. News of the story was published in 12 different publications, with a combined readership figure of 519,038! Here is a comprehensive report of the coverage if you would like to take a look!

If you would like help to gain press exposure for any event, contact communications@ataxia.org.uk and we can help you publicise your activity as well as assist in liaising with the press in your area.

Fundraise in Schools
We recently created a designated schools pack designed to encourage fundraising within your school. To download the pack, click here. If you need any support please do contact fundraising@ataxia.org.uk

Gift-Aid

If you are a UK tax payer, please complete this Gift Aid form to enable us to treat your donation as Gift Aid. This increases the value of your gift by nearly a third at no cost to yourself and we can claim back 25p in every £1 you give.

Ataxia UK relies on the kind support of our Friends and donors to keep our work going. We keep our admin costs low and in the past five years have spent over £4 million on research into treatments and a cure for ataxia. Your donations are very much appreciated and will be put to good use.
