Help drive research & support people affected by ataxia
“There is still no cure or treatment. Research is the only way to get there.” – Yanita
Your gift can help people like Yanita by driving research and providing support.

Let's help grow the community dedicated to ataxia research...
In addition to a collaborative community of university researchers working on the ataxias, there are now a growing number of biotech and pharmaceutical companies also trying to develop treatments. Gene therapy and other genetic approaches are receiving more attention, especially following their successes in treating other conditions. There’s been increased interest in ataxia research, shown by the high attendance at the most recent International Congress for ataxia Research we held, with over 400 attendees committed to ataxia research.
We know you are just as invested as we are in watching this collaborative community grow and increase research into ataxias. Collaborative research events are vital for bringing researchers and ideas together, reaffirming the need for research, and building on hopeful projects.
One key outcome of these events comes from Ataxia UK’s grant programme which ensures researchers in laboratories and hospitals globally have the means to continue to push research towards developing treatments.
Your generosity can help create a platform for more advances...
It’s only through your generous support Ataxia UK's team can ensure research grants are provided to researchers who are invested in finding cures for the ataxias and that support is provided to those affected by ataxia. As Yanita says…
“Research advancements even in the span of a few years have been enormous, but for me it is important for ataxias to not get left behind. Even the knowledge that smart people are working on it gives me hope to keep going.”

Your generosity can help progress ataxia research and support people like Yanita, who are affected by ataxia in the meantime.
Hopefully in reading this you can see the importance of progressing research, raising awareness and supporting people affected by ataxia...
Please note – progressing research and providing support are just some of the ways your donation will help. Donations are unrestricted & used where the need is greatest including this project & research.
