Research study aiming to improve speech in Friedreich’s ataxia looking for participants

Ataxia UK is funding a project that is testing a speech therapy treatment in people with FA. This study is run by Prof Anja Lowit in Strathclyde, Scotland; the aim is to test the effectiveness of a speech therapy technique called LSVT in improving communication for people with Friedreich’s ataxia.

The research team will conduct interviews via Skype, so there is no need to travel and is thus a great opportunity that is open to people from anywhere in the UK. They aim to have a small group starting in February.

More information about this project and how to take part can be found here.
