We are very excited to announce that our annual sponsored walk is returning! Many of you will be familiar with our City Bridges Challenge - however this year we have decided to mix things up a bit, and do a sponsored walk through the Royal Parks in London!

Join us for our annual walking challenge, this time through the parks of Westminster, on Sunday 24 September. Help us to raise awareness and much needed funds for Ataxia UK by walking through some of the most iconic parks in London, including Hyde Park, Green Park and St James’s Park! We will also walk past some of London’s most exciting landmarks, such as Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the London Eye and Trafalgar Square.

We are delighted that this year the Lord Mayor of Westminster – Ian Adams – will be supporting our walk. He will see us off at the start of the walk and meet us at the end, where he will be handing out certificates to thank everyone for taking part in the challenge. Everyone participating in the walk will also receive a free Ataxia UK t-shirt to wear on the day!

We have two routes (short route: 3.8 miles; long route: 5.7 miles), both starting in Hyde Park and finishing at the Mayor of Westminster’s parlour at 5 The Strand.

The walk will begin at 10:30 am, but we ask walkers to arrive at 10:00 am to register.

If you would like to get involved then please download, complete and return this application form to us via e-mail: fundraising@ataxia.org.uk. Alternatively, you can contact one of our friendly fundraising team on: 020 7582 1444.

Last year we raised £6,260.00. If you would like to create a fundraising page for this year’s walk, then it can be done through our website.  To cover the costs of the walk, we ask our fundraisers to try to raise £20.00 or make a donation of £20.00 to Ataxia UK, although this is not compulsory.

We would love everyone reading this to get on board and help us make the Ataxia UK Westminster Parks Challenge the best one yet!

We look forward to hearing from you.
