Get involved Fundraise for us At home and virtual fundraising ideas Two Point Six Challenge! Tell me more! What is it all about? Ataxia UK need you now more than ever. Like so many charities across the UK, Ataxia UK has been hugely impacted by the cancellation of thousands of fundraising events due to Covid-19. In response, the organisers of the biggest mass participation sports events across the country have come together to create a new campaign to raise vital funds to help our fundraising and save the UK’s charities. The 2.6 Challenge launches on Sunday 26 April – which would have been the date of the 40th edition of the London Marathon, the world’s biggest one day annual fundraising event, raising £66.4 million for charities last year. How can I get involved? Dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and fundraise by creating a 2.6 Challenge fundraising page. The 2.6 Challenge is for everyone – the only requirement is that you must follow the Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing. This could be anything from 26 hops around the garden, 2.6km running up and down the stairs, drawing 26 pictures in one day, walk, skip or hop the miles, juggle for 2.6 minutes, get 26 of your friends to do a video call or do a 26 minute workout! You could event flip pancakes for 26 seconds ... the possibilities are endless! Get creative, have fun and be part of something incredible. Once you’ve chosen your challenge, head to Just Giving here or Virgin Money Giving here, to set up your fundraising page and ask your friends and family to sponsor you. Ataxia UK will then also receive a 'top up' donation as an extra boost! It doesn’t matter about your age or ability. We need people like you to become Home Heroes! Remember to use the hashtags #TwoPointSixChallenge and #TeamAtaxiaUK in your online photos and videos and we'll share them and feature you on our social media!
