Philip Griffiths' career has encompassed many facets; starting out with a five-year apprenticeship with Rolls Royce Aerospace through to general sales, engineering purchasing and finally supervisory/administrative roles with a contractor to the Department of Work and Pensions.

Philip was diagnosed with late onset Episodic ataxia in 2008. Over the years Philip has served as a Parish Councillor and created The Parish Emergency Plan (now adopted by Devon County Council as a template for other villages and communities in Devon). Heavily involved with the South West Branch, Philip was part of the Exeter Awareness Campaign in the summer of 2017, that rose local awareness of ataxia to 41%.
