Covid-19 Guidance on Branch and Support Group meetings The Government guidance on meeting up with others changed from 4 July. You can find it here. However it still does not permit people from more than two households to meet up indoors. Consequently, Ataxia UK’s advice is that Branches and Support Groups should not meet face to face at this time. The Government has said that it expects its advice on shielding to change from 1 August, but at this point it has not offered very much clarification about the details of the changes, other than that it may become permissible for people who are shielding to go to work and that sickness benefit for people unable to work from home is likely to end. At this point, it may be that we will suggest groups are able to meet, but until there is more clarification we can’t be certain about this, especially because a number of people with ataxia are in the extremely vulnerable category – for which the advice may not change.
