About us Ataxia UK news Calling all bloggers, vloggers and writers! We want to ensure that the voices of people who are affected by ataxia have as much online coverage as possible. Through this coverage, the public can hear more about the condition in a way that helps them to really understand the human, social and physical reality of ataxia, rather than the dictionary definition of a medical term. Help do this by writing for us. We've built a new area on our website to host blog articles written by our community, for our community, and are looking for budding authors to produce it's content. We welcome regular contributors as well individual articles; articles can be written about anything you like, so long as it is about ataxia in some way. Don't worry if you're new to it! We have a how-to guide, can send you a brief and answer any questions you may have. Regular bloggers would ideally produce a blog piece a month (or more!) on a topic of their choice, and it's up to you whether to make your articles a series or individual; funny or reflective; your story or about society. What happens to my writing? We will publish your articles on 'Your Blog' and, with your permission, share them on our social media channels and approach the press with stories when we can. You'll be given a link to your piece so you can share it with your own friends and family, social media networks and peers. Being a published writer online is a great way to project your voice, highlight gaps or missing information in the public sphere, and it looks great on a CV. Already blogging? If you already keep a blog or vlog of your own, send us your link; a small summary of who you are and why you write; what your blog is about, and we'll host a link on our website to direct readers your way! Get in touch Express your interest to blog for us by emailing Steph at [email protected]. She will send you our blogging guidelines and discuss your chosen topic. We look forward to hearing from you!
