The volcanic wilderness of Iceland or the summit of Kilimanjaro – You Decide!

If you have ever wanted to do an exhilarating challenge for charity, here is your chance. Ataxia UK are looking for adventurous volunteers to take part an exciting sponsored trek in 2009. In August we are running a trek through some of the most stunning parts of Iceland and in October there is the opportunity to trek up mount Kilimanjaro. There will also be the chance to take part in a London to Paris Bike Ride in July and September.

Our five-day trek through Iceland’s dramatic landscape of fire and ice, begins on August 5th. Over the coming days the trek will take you to wild volcanic landscapes, glaciers, hot springs, geysers and waterfalls. With the midnight sun shining brightly and adding to this eerie atmosphere, you’ll experience the diverse and stunning scenery of this un-spoilt wilderness. This will be a truly unforgettable experience.

The Kilimanjaro trek is along the beautiful Machame route and will take you through rainforest, moorland and scree before finally reaching its snow tipped summit at 5896 feet for breathtaking views. This is a tough trek with great rewards at the end, for both yourself and Ataxia UK.

Bear Grylls, the TV survival expert who endorses Ataxia UK's treks, says 'Your support to Ataxia UK will make a critical difference to many brave people's lives. You are a hero in my eyes.'
