Welcome to Ataxia UK, the national charity for everyone affected by ataxia. We mainly focus on progressive types of ataxia. Perhaps you have recently had a diagnosis, or you have just heard of us.

I'm new

 join us1. Join Us

It's free to become a Friend of Ataxia UK, and gives you access to all our services, including our quarterly magazine, our Friends ID card explaining what ataxia is, and all our news and updates.

2. Get in touch with other people

Often the most helpful thing is to be in touch with other people who have ataxia. You can access our discussion forum and join us on Facebook (follow the link from our homepage), and you will also find lots of help and support at www.livingwithataxia.org

3. Get the support you are entitled to

If you're not sure what benefits or social services help you might be able to get, you can contact our helpline on 0845 644 0606 and ask for a referral to our advocacy service. Email helpline@ataxia.org.uk

4. Get involved

Ataxia UK has a network of local branches and groups round the UK, offer meetings and social outings. You can also get involved in raising awareness of ataxia and helping to raise funds to support our work.

5. Get the best treatment and care

If your GP needs information about ataxia, why not request some of our publications to give to them? You can also ask for a referral to one of our specialist Ataxia Centres, a major breakthrough in the way people with ataxia are cared for.

Finally: Remember you are not alone

We hope you will join Ataxia UK as a Friend today and benefit from our events, information, helpline, and more. If we can help you in any way, do get in touch with us.
