Contact usWe now have a new way to contact the helpline. As well as phoning, emailing, or writing, you can also now get in touch by text message.  Text Connect: simply send your text message (saying how you would like us to contact you back) to this number – 0779 7806436 (0044 779 7806436 from outside of the UK). This will appear as an email to the helpline, and one of our helpline staff will contact you. 'Ataxia UK gives me the reassurance I need to live day to day with ataxia.'

What if I can't get through to the helpline?

We only have one helpline operator on at a time so if the line is engaged please do leave us a message and we will call you back.

Why didn't you call me back?

The only reason for us not to return a call is if we cannot make out your number - please do try calling us again or email us.

Is the helpline confidential?

Yes. We can't trace your number through the switchboard and you can stay anonymous if you prefer. To make things easier, we now offer you the option to join as a Friend of Ataxia UK over the phone.

About our advocacy service

If you have a problem that needs extra help to solve, you might like to call the helpline and ask for a referral to our advocacy service. We will then contact you as soon as possible to see if we can help you solve the problem - for example it could be a difficulty with benefits, schooling, housing, or care services.
