Ataxia is a rare condition, so to get the best treatment and care, patients need to be seen by someone with expertise, who can provide a 'one-stop shop' for all their needs.

Ataxia UK is developing a nationwide network of Accredited Ataxia Centres, providing excellence of care for the diagnosis and management of the ataxias, and access to a wide range of integrated services, as well as links to research programmes. In order to be accredited Centres have to comply with a number of criteria that were devised following consultation with people with ataxia and clinicians with expertise in ataxia.
Referral to one of our Ataxia Centres is through your GP or neurologist - if you are having any problems getting a referral, please do contact us.
