Wheely Wobbly Walk
The first Wheely Wobbly Walk!
In celebration of International Awareness Day (25th Spetember), Ataxia UK introduced a new event called the Wheely Wobbly Walk in 2008. The Wheely Wobbly Walk is intended to be a fun event for everyone, whether walking independently, with a mobility aid or in a wheelchair. Those people taking part can walk, run, wheel or wobble for any distance they choose, and raise money for Ataxia UK.
This year we had Wheely Wobbly Walks taking place all across the UK, from Durham to London. Melanie Priest-Taylor even took it as far as the Caribbean, doing her walk on the deck of a cruise ship!
Overall we raised £15,000 for Ataxia UK. It also provided a great oppurtunity for our members to meet each other. A huge thank you to all who took part. We hope to see you next year for an even better Wheely Wobbly Walk.
