Welfare grants
Thank you very much for the grant towards a respite day out. As I live in a rural area, it’s hard to get transport.
I and my family went to the theatre to see 'Sleeping Beauty'. The Ataxia UK grant paid for our transport, pantomine tickets and a bite to eat afterwards.
What a great night out! Agnes
For many people with ataxia there comes a time when they need something as a result of their illness or disability - a respite day out or a short break,, a mobility aid, specialist equipment.
The Welfare Grants Fund helps people affected by ataxia with the cost of items they need as a direct result of their ataxia, which they cannot afford to buy themselves and for which they cannot get statutory help.
A big thank you to Ataxia UK and its grant system which has enabled me to purchase a computer. Dave
