Jackie Thompson

Jackie (Jacqueline) Thompson developed Friedreich’s ataxia when she was about 12. She lived with it for about twenty years of her life, using a wheelchair for most of that time. During 2006 she became very ill and sadly died in hospital on Thursday 3rd August. Despite her suffering at the end of her life, Jackie faced her troubles with the same courage and determination she had all of her life. She was the bravest person we will ever know. She had a great sense of humour and loved to laugh. We will treasure that with all memories we have of her. She has left a huge void in our family and is missed and loved more than we can ever describe. We hope that one day there will be a cure and people will not have to suffer like Jackie did. May our dear Jackie rest in peace.
