Ataxia-East Branch

Ataxia East (formerly the Peterborough Branch of Ataxians) is a support group for people with ataxia and their carers/partners/families.

We cover the counties of Eastern England. We have meetings in Peterborough, a great chance to meet other members. We also have many members who cannot attend meetings, but who stay in touch via email, visits etc. Our newsletter Contaxia goes to all our members at least four times a year.

We are a busy group with a dedicated committee. Members and committee get involved with fundraising events such as street collections, stalls at many different events, dances/discos and car boot sales. Members have done sponsored events - marathons, walks, cycle rides - raising an incredible amount of money for the group.

We also have events promoting awareness of our group and ataxia.

Our group is steadily growing and we have great social events like Christmas meals and summer barbeques. We also provide small grants for those members who are in need, as agreed by Committee and keeping within our budget.

Upcoming events

We will be trying to organize a minibus to the AUK conference at Stansted on 11th October. If you are interested please contact Dave ASAP (contact details below). We will expect to leave Boston about 7am and pick up in Peterborough appox 8.15am.
