New overseas scholarship opportunity

LEAD has announced a new chance for a disabled person to study abroad.

LEAD is an international NGO which trains people in leadership. Their European programme offers the chance to study in the UK and abroad and the scholarship will make the course free for one disabled person.

The applicant needs to demonstrate leadership potential and a background in environmental issues such as policy or implementation. The applicant will need to undergo a telephone interview after having applied.

The programme includes a module in Brussels where the participant will meet EU officials along with NGOs such as UN agencies. The Beijing arm will include field trips to see on the ground solutions and applications.

With the travel involved the applicant needs to be mobile. If a wheelchair user Brussels should not be a problem but Beijing may have limited facilities for wheelchairs on some of the field trips but this can be investigated.
