What is ataxia

'Ataxia' means ‘lack of order’. People with ataxia have problems with movement, balance, and speech. Over 10,000 people in the UK have a form of ataxia. There is currently no cure but we are working to find one every day.

Ataxia UK national conference

Ataxia UK's national conference will be held in Stansted this year. There will be a full programme of events including Drs' Q & A, a children's programme, a meeting for young people, and a range of activities, workshops, and talks.

London Wheely Wobbly Walk

Join us in London for Ataxia UK's official Wheely Wobbly Walk - a great walk to raise money by getting yourself sponsored to walk, wheel, or wobble as far as you like round a 5k course.

Ataxia Awareness Day

We'd love to hear from you if you would like to hold a Wheely Wobbly Walk or another fundraising activity. Why not arrange your own walk, information stall, quiz night, or something else? We can provide leaflets, balloons, T-shirts, and lots of advice and support.
