A Marathon Effort

London Marathon

On Sunday 24th April, seven runners bravely took on the challenge of completing the London Marathon in aid of Ataxia UK. Simon Bonney, Will Russell, Nicolette Hatton, Jack Stollery, Carl Jackson, John Bee and Samuel Courtney all finished the tough 26.2 mile course around some of London’s most notable landmarks despite the cold and windy weather!

So far the running total has passed the £14,000 mark, with donations still pouring in. We’d like to once again extend our thanks and appreciation to everyone who took part for all their hard work on the day, during training and throughout their fundraising – hopefully your legs have recovered by now!

Brighton Marathon

We also had three runners tackle the Brighton Marathon just the previous week on Sunday 17th April. Jess Bush and Ollie Wise, who dubbed themselves Jolly Jogs, took part along with Elaine Macey who was running in memory of her late dad. Everyone who took part did amazingly well on the day and in fundraising, and between the three of them £3,378.62 has been raised so far! Nick French was due to run the marathon but sadly had to pull out due to injury…however not to be defeated, he will now be taking part in the Liverpool marathon later this year! A massive well done and congratulations from us to all three who took part, for all their hard work and determination.
