One of the highlights of the year is always the Ataxia UK Annual conference. This year we are holding this popular event at the Radisson Blu East Midlands in Derby, which is close to the East Midlands airport.

The full conference programme is available here

This is a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and to develop new relationships with people affected by ataxia, whilst finding out the latest developments in the fields of research and care.

The weekend starts at lunchtime on Friday 7th October with our 'All About Ataxia' seminar - for those who wish to find out more about the impact of the condition. This will be followed in the evening with updates in research and an informal buffet to welcome people to the conference.

On Saturday at the main conference on the theme is ‘Ataxia and the Arts’ and we hope to showcase lots of the fantastic artistic work that people with ataxia have created including photography, painting and writing. If you would like to present your work please get in touch with the office as soon as possible.  The Conference will also include the old favourites such as a Drs’ Q&A, ‘It works for me’ and research updates, as well as other topical and informative subjects, plus massage therapists, benefits advisors and an introduction to Mindfulness.

We have a brilliant after-dinner entertainer on the Saturday night with a show that is not to be missed. Steve Price, a magic, comedy and sleight of hand expert, first supported us in 2012. He is one of the UK's busiest and most established magicians, a Gold Star Member of the Inner Magic Circle, a past Secretary of The Magic Circle and he has also won The Magic Circle’s Originality Prize.

Please note that bookings will close on 26 September Bookings can be made online via the event’s page on our website.
